Update: it looks like I wasn’t under any sort of security threat at all. The original article provided misinformation. Wordpress didn’t have the same issue with XML-RPC (though there was a different one, but it was fixed). See: http://weblogtoolscollection.com/archives/2005/07/06/xmlrpc-sploit-cornfusion/
