The answer is… yes. (Whew! You can sigh in relief now.) Unfortunately, however, its progress has been minimal. I’ve been a bit discouraged with so many other similar chatting systems, but the email I received today has given me new hope.

Yep, so you know what that means? It means that if Chategory is developed rapidly, and it functions exceptionally, it will have a chance at beating the competition. Due to lack of time (and I know it’s no excuse, but I’m working with a lot of people right now to get a lot done), the project’s progress has been languishing, just like the other alternative mentioned in the email (undisclosed for privacy and credibility purposes).
Now with all that said, I need your help. I’m asking for 3 very advanced JavaScript programmers (who are in-the-know, not from the early ’90s) and 2 very advanced PHP programmers. The current team consists of three people, and if we have 8 people, I believe Chategory’s development speed will increase greatly.
errrr… my Atom feed said there were 8 new entries on your blog, yet there’s only one. What the crap!??!

Thanks for your response, Jonathan. I’m sorry to hear the progress has been going slowly.
Hopefully the call for developers yields some good results, as I’m really looking forward to using Chategory.
Unfortuantely, I don’t fall into the classes of developers you mentioned above, so I ruled myself out :-)

By the way, would you consider posting the call for developers on the Chategory Development Blog as well? Perhaps that would help in reaching an even wider base?

I would do more, but I don’t know what to do! I’m not very much of a designer, and so I can’t really assist in the new GUI development. If there’s something to be done, let me know! Drop me an email/IM.

Hey Jona,
You know where I’m at in regards to PHP and JavaScript. You used the word advanced so that certainly isn’t me. However, if there is one thing I can do, it’s help with the interface. I’ve had more experience with that than anything esle I think.
