Tracks Life

Lists and reminders aren’t especially unique services, as one can just as easily use Ta-da Lists or Backpack, although TracksLife is more for personal things and is implemented as a spreadsheet rather than a simple list. If you already use Ta-da Lists or Backpack, you may not need to use TracksLife, but regardless, it can be a useful personal motivator.

I realize that this service came into existence a month or two ago, but I’ve been reluctant to try it out for myself until today, when I thought that I should keep track of my daily exercises, guitar practice, etc. I could have used Ta-da Lists or Backpack, but I figured this was a good opportunity to give TracksLife a try. As it turns out, TracksLife is probably the most useful personal tracker, just because of the way it works. (Keep in mind that Ta-da Lists and Backpack are more useful for other purposes, but as a personal reminder/tracker system, TracksLife is more appropriate.)

There’s only one feature that I’d like to see become a part of TracksLife to make it a much more solid service: charts. It would be exceptionally interesting and helpful if I could look at a chart of, say, the past 30 days and see a progress chart. I don’t know if it’s entirely possible, however, due to the fact that not all data is numeric.

In any case, that’s my quick write-up of TracksLife. Now, hopefully I haven’t diminished my readership by posting a “review” of two services successively. Coming soon will be a PHP-ish article, so maybe that will make people love me more (or at least hate me less).
