I really don’t have a great deal to say about the design, other than I hope you like it and I kind of threw it together at the last second.
Oh, and if you still see the old design, try checking the sidebar for a link that says “Slightly Remarkable 3.0″ and click that; if you still have old cookies, the design you see may not be the current one.
Thanks, and enjoy!

I like this one a lot, it looks very elegant. I especially like how some of the sections you had in the sidebar have now been relocated under the main content. Out of the way, but still within easy reach.
Very nice.
And now, sorry to lower the tone, but with that font you’ve used for your links, the capital A looks very rude indeed…

Capital A looks very rude? I’m sorry, I don’t follow…

It’s, uh, the A on the “about” link at the top of the page.
I love this design!

Heh, Dave, you’re such a perv. :)

Whoa. This is different. I’m not sure, but I think I like this one better than the last.

Jona! My god! Have you lost your mind?
Jesus christ! I don’t even know what to say. Your such a great designer, but this…oui!
It looks so….
-unrefined
-slapped together
-even worse than the previous one (I loved the original, bring it back!)
-ickyickyickyfitangni!
But seriously…have you lost your mind?

This is a pretty sweet design. One thing - the header and the background image don’t quite match up in Opera (I know, I’m always the one complaining about Opera :p)
May 2nd, 2006 at 6:27 pm
Yep, Zach. I lost my mind. Actually I like the design quite a bit, although you are right that it was somewhat “slapped together.” Good catch.
I’ve noticed a pattern, though. My first design, when I made Slightly Remarkable on May 1st, was a darker design; then, in November, I redesigned to a lighter design. Now, it’s May again, and I’ve got a dark design. Guess what will happen come November…
I actually made this design about four months ago, but it was kind of thrown together at the time (just because I had the idea), and about 3 days before May 1st, I realized that I had no design to reboot with, so I pulled this one out of the hat, and so far it looks like it’s gotten mostly positive feedback.
Oh, and Zach, if you really like the first design the most, you can use the style switcher on the homepage to select it.
RHSUnderground, you and Opera are starting to get to me. Break off the relationship, it isn’t working! Seriously, though, it’s probably because of Opera’s retarded margin/padding system, which should be done away with and replaced with something that works.
Thanks, Joshua.

Alternatively, it’s just because you set the body margin to 0, but not the body padding.

…and Jona enters his dark phase. Dark is hot in the summer. :)
I love it man. So does Liquid Designs. ‘gratz man.

Hi,
Its really really nice. Are you planning on giving away this theme to the public under a CC license? Im really interested in using your theme as a base and changing some things for the webpage of a rock band from a friend. Off course, I would attibute the design to you, saying that I’ve only tweaked it, and even adding a link pointing here in the footer.

Hi Kenny,
Fortunately for you, everything on this site is copyrighted under a CC license, so technically you are already given the privilege of making use the content on this web site, provided you follow the rules outlined in the license. In simple terms, feel free to use the design (I’ll send you the theme files if you like) and make derivations, but please do credit me in the form of a link to Slightly Remarkable, and be prepared to release any modifications you make to anyone requesting it. I’m sure that, unless you’re doing a commercial job for this band, these guidelines are simple to follow and will cause no complications. Oh, and be sure to send me a link to that rock band, once the site is up. I’m always looking for new music!

Off course I would follow the by-nc-sa rules. I would put a link towards www.slightlyremarkable.com . Its not a commercial webpage, its just the official webpage from a band, which hasn’t even recorded a demo yet. Its a neighborhood band where the brother of the wife of my brother (no idea how’s that called in english) plays the guitar. They are from Reconquista city, located in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. And sure, I have no problem on releasing any derivated themes I could make. I would apreciate if you could send me the theme files to the email address of this comment.
PS: The band is playing spanish rock songs only (for the moment), but if you are still interested in hearing them I’ll come back when im done with the page and post a link to it or send you a mail. There is going to be some samples online for anyone to hear.
